Split Second Description
You have made the cut to join a group of elite drivers chosen to participate in the global broadcast event known as Split/Second. Racing through a city created specifically for destruction, your goal is to become the season champ where fame, fortune and glory await. But first, you must survive a grueling 24-episode season of races in a variety of explosive locations to crush the competition and become the champion. When speed is not enough, the city is your weapon.

Split/Second is an intense action-racing game set within a global reality television show. Competitors vie to be the first to the finish line in a made-for-TV city set rigged to blow with the ultimate goal of becoming the season champion. Players in Split/Second don’t just collide with other vehicles to knock them from the track, but can also trigger devastating events and epic Hollywood-style explosions to take out your opponents and drastically alter the dynamics of the race. Being fast is not enough as players must use strategy and pinpoint timing to obliterate huge structures and towering TV set pieces to tactically alter the track or create entirely new routes.

Quality Price Service This game, as a previous reviewer had stated, is simulator quality with the playability of an arcade hit. The fact that you can manipulate track layout with the "Power Play" system adds a whole new dimension. There are a multitude of track variants with some being quite nerve wracking with planes crashing and towers falling down throwing your car all over the track. (Posted on 11/25/10)

Quality Price Service The graphics are undeniably phenomenal. The fantasy cars look fairly real, though design can be repetitive. The tracks are great fun, and most of them has one or more have epic track changes. Track changes basically look like this: A ship will tip over and crash into the runway pwning all cars in the way, and provide a new part of the map with new obstacles to control. Price Service Quality After playing the game for a bit, you start to figure out all the places that you can trigger stuff, and may lesson the excitement. The Campaigns are fun, but get repetitive. The levels get extremely difficult and ultimately discourage players from wanting to finish it. I spent many hours on one campaign and never getting first. There is little story line at all, other than a commentator (a pretty good one) only talks when you enter a new session, but doesn't talk at all otherwise. I can see that they did not fully develop the idea of commentating. The music is also poor, so you may want to put on some exciting music for the background instead of in game music. The AI can unrealistic: does not spin out of control when you slam into them, whereas the opposite is true. They also seem to catch up when you are far ahead first, though this keep things from being dull. (Posted on 11/4/10)
